ICI Global Comment Letter to the IOSCO Survey on Index Providers
On October 13, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) released a survey on index providers directed at asset managers and index providers, focused on examining the nature of the interactions between these two parties.
The survey, which contains a set of questions for asset managers, and a separate set of questions for index providers, is intended to support IOSCO's mandate by seeking to generate a more granular understanding of certain conduct-related index provider matters. IOSCO intends to take into account the feedback provided to the survey in its ongoing work on this matter.
ICI Global submitted this comment letter that describes ICI's resources regarding how funds use indexes to assist IOSCO's information-gathering efforts.
