On April 6, 2016, the Department of Labor (DOL) released its final rule re-defining the definition of a fiduciary under the Employee Retirement Income Securities Act of 1974 (ERISA). The new rule is lengthy and complex, and will have a sweeping impact on how Americans save and plan for retirement.
To help members better understand and implement the rule, ICI convened a forum of industry leaders and stakeholders on May 10 in Washington, DC. Highlights of the event, “Assessing the New DOL Fiduciary Rule: Policy and Practical Challenges,” are available.
