Release of the OECD’s Pensions Outlook 2016

On 13 December, ICI hosted the US launch of the OECD’s Pensions Outlook 2016. The event was held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, and featured a presentation by Pablo Antolin, principal economist and head of the private pension unit for the OECD’s Financial Affairs Division. He discussed key takeaways from Pensions Outlook 2016, which focused on:
- The shift from defined benefit arrangements to defined contribution arrangements
- Tax advantages for retirement savings
- Annuity products and their guarantees
- Pension design and financial education
- Policies to improve financial advice for retirement
- Public sector employee retirement income vs. the private sector
