ICI Chairman to Participate in First Ever National Roundtable on Saving and Investing
Washington, DC, March 27, 1998 - An historic campaign to motivate Americans to "get the facts" they need to secure their financial futures will kick off with a first ever National Roundtable on Saving and Investing to be held Monday, March 30 in Washington, DC.
The two-hour forum, featuring leading voices from government, business, consumer organizations, and the media, will address ways to overcome critical barriers to saving and investing wisely. Institute Chairman Don Powell will participate in the Roundtable. Other participants are listed below.
The Roundtable will be the first of a week-long series of national and community events to launch the "Facts on Saving and Investing Campaign." Securities regulators from twenty-one nations in the Western Hemisphere will also offer investor education programs in their countries during the week. Saving and Investing Week will culminate with a National Investors’ Town Meeting in Washington, DC. featuring Chairman Levitt. This meeting will be broadcast to downlink sites across the country using USDA's national satellite network. Attendees at the Washington meeting and at the downlink sites will be able to ask questions of Chairman Levitt and a panel of experts.
