ICI Hires Christof W. Stahel as Senior Economist in Industry and Financial Analysis

Washington, DC; June 18, 2018—The Investment Company Institute (ICI) has named Christof W. Stahel as a senior economist in industry and financial analysis. Stahel is a seasoned international economist who most recently served as the assistant director at the Office of Asset Management (OAM) within the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA). Stahel also served as vice chair of the Committee on Emerging Risks at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). He will be based in Washington, DC, and will focus on issues related to the fund industry in Europe and the United States.

“Christof is an experienced economist with deep knowledge of global financial markets,” said ICI Chief Economist Sean Collins. “He will be a great asset to our global research team and we are very excited to have him join ICI.”

Before joining ICI and his time at the OAM, Stahel was a financial economist in DERA. He holds a PhD in finance and an MA in economics from The Ohio State University. He also holds an MA in economics with a specialization in econometrics from the University of Zurich.
