ICI’s Domenick to Join Loeffler Jonas & Tuggey

ICI Executive to Lead Firm’s Washington Office

Washington, DC, May 7, 2004 - Investment Company Institute Executive Vice President Julie Domenick announced today her plans to join Loeffler Jonas & Tuggey as Managing Principal. She will oversee the firm’s Washington, DC office and expand its government relations practice.

“Joining Loeffler Jonas & Tuggey is an exceptional opportunity for me. I am very excited about helping to lead its Washington expansion and especially about working with Tom Loeffler, a respected leader, long time friend, and colleague. I am deeply grateful to the Institute’s Board of Governors and members for the tremendous opportunities afforded me over the last 23 years. It has been an honor to serve the ICI and to work with the outstanding Institute staff on behalf of mutual funds and their shareholders,” Domenick said. “And I consider it a special privilege to have been associated with individuals who have democratized investing for Americans.

“Julie’s contributions to the Institute’s public affairs effort have been outstanding,” said ICI Chairman Paul G. Haaga. “She has been a tremendous advocate for the Institute and mutual funds. Her experience, her extensive contacts, and most importantly, her integrity will be sorely missed at the Institute. We look forward to continuing to work with Julie in her new position.”

"Julie and I worked closely together during my tenure as the Institute's general counsel. Few people understand the intersection of business and public policy issues like Julie,” said incoming ICI President Paul Schott Stevens. “I congratulate her on her outstanding service to the ICI, and I wish her every success in the future. We will miss her at the ICI, but I look forward to opportunities to work together with her in her new capacity."

Domenick has served as the liaison between the Institute and policy makers and public opinion leaders and directed programs in these areas. She was a senior adviser to the ICI’s President and reported to the ICI’s Board of Governors and its Executive Committee. In her capacity as Executive Vice President, Domenick oversaw three ICI departments: Public Communications, Government Affairs, and Strategic Analysis. This year The Hill named her one of Washington’s most effective lobbyists.
