ICI Chief Government Affairs and Public Policy Officer Tom Quaadman testified today at a hearing before the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets titled “From Wall Street to Main Street: The Future of How America Invests.”

ICI led a coalition of prominent financial services trade groups and advocacy organizations reiterating the need to pass the GROWTH Act of 2025, which has secured strong bipartisan support with more than 100 cosponsors in the House of Representatives.

Millions of Americans are filing their taxes today feeling like they're being punished for doing the right thing: saving and investing for the long term. That was the message at a Tax Day event hosted by the Investment Company Institute.

ICI led a group of the nation’s leading financial and business trade groups and consumer advocates in calling on Congressional leadership to pass the bipartisan Generating Retirement Ownership Through Long-Term Holding (GROWTH) Act.

Today ICI called on Congressional leadership to pass the bipartisan GROWTH Act, a bill allowing investors to defer taxation of automatically reinvested capital gains distributions until they sell their fund shares.

ICI submitted a letter to Majority Leader John Thune, Minority Leader Charles Schumer, House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries urging for their support and passage of the GROWTH Act of 2025.
