A Season of Change: Understanding the SEC’s Regulatory Agenda and Tax Legislation

Given the volume and reach of recent SEC rule adoptions and outstanding SEC rule proposals, the second half of 2024 promises to be a consequential regulatory time for funds and advisers. This panel will address what to expect as we head into the fall of 2024 and beyond, including discussion of recent amendments to the fund names rule and money market fund rule, among other recent adoptions, as well as the liquidity and swing pricing, predictive data analytics, safeguarding, and outsourcing proposals. There will also be a discussion of recent Supreme Court and Fifth Circuit cases and their possible impact on the SEC’s regulatory agenda.
