Coachella Valley Community Volunteer Activity
Once again, we are pleased to announce a preconference volunteer activity. ICI has partnered with Shelter From The Storm, Coachella Valley’s only comprehensive domestic victim assistance service and shelter provider organization. Their purpose is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families, and communities. Shelter From The Storm’s first priority is the safety of those who seek assistance. Their programs work with clients to meet their needs, so they can look ahead to a safe horizon.
The volunteer activity will take place on Sunday, March 27, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (PT) at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. Volunteers will assemble hygiene kits for current shelter clients. Service learning hours are also available for this activity. A representative from Shelter From The Storm will be onsite during the activity to give a brief presentation about the services provided.
