Terms of Use

As an employee or director or trustee of an ICI member firm, you are granted a limited license, as described below, to use certain ICI materials such as memoranda and white papers. Employees of firms that subscribe to any of these materials may use them only in accordance with the terms of the subscription contract signed by their firm. The following terms apply to access to and use of ICI materials by members and subscribers.

Authorized Use of ICI Materials

  • ICI memoranda, statistical data releases, white papers, and web pages are the copyrighted property of the Investment Company Institute, with all rights reserved.
  • All ICI materials, including third party materials, are provided for the personal, individual use of members and subscribers.
  • No materials, except as noted below, may be photocopied, faxed, reprinted, scanned, published in databases, posted to websites, or otherwise reproduced, displayed, converted, or transferred to other persons.
  • Materials are provided to members and directors and trustees only in their capacity as employees or directors or trustees of a member firm, or as employees of a subscribing firm. Materials may not be shared in any way with persons who are not bona fide employees of an ICI member or subscriber firm, or on a board of an ICI member fund.
  • Institute statistical data releases and press releases may be copied, faxed, or otherwise transferred to others.

Conditions for Online Access to ICI Materials

  • The Institute provides access codes to authorized individuals to allow them to view and use materials posted online at www.ici.org and www.idc.org. Access codes are provided for the sole use of the single individual designated by the ICI, except that a person may share his or her codes with a single administrative assistant in his or her immediate office.
  • Each person is responsible for all access to ICI websites with his or her access codes. Access codes may be deactivated without notice if the Institute detects or suspects unauthorized use.
  • License to access ICI materials on www.ici.org and www.idc.org ends when employment with a member or subscribing firm ends; or when service as a director or trustee ends; or when an individual is no longer involved in the operation or management of registered investment companies; or when a firm’s membership or subscription ends.
