Exchange-Traded Fund Assets
February 2007Washington, DC, March 29, 2007 - The combined assets of the nation's exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were $433.40 billion in February, according to ICI. The Institute's monthly statistical collection also includes the value of shares issued and redeemed by exchange-traded funds. Statistics contained in the Institute's monthly ETF report have been obtained from information provided to ICI by exchange-traded funds and commodity funds. Commodity funds are listed in the Domestic (Sector/Industry) category.

359 | Highlights: Assets of all exchange-traded funds rose in February by $2.32 billion, or 0.5 percent, to $433.40 billion. Over the past 12 months, ETF assets increased $110.99 billion, or 34.4 percent. Assets in domestic equity ETFs increased $64.08 billion since February 2006, and global equity ETFs assets rose $40.43 billion during this period. During February, the value of all ETF shares issued exceeded that of shares redeemed by $4.97 billion. In 2006, ETFs experienced a net issuance of $73.99 billion.
