SEC Extends Comment Period on Subpenny Decimal Trading Concept Release
Washington, DC, October 1, 2001 - The Securities and Exchange Commission issued an announcement extending the comment period to November 23, 2001 on a concept release dealing with the impact of trading and potentially quoting securities in increments of less than a penny. The deadline for submitting public comments on the concept release was originally September 24, 2001. However, according to the SEC, the extension comes in light of the market disruption caused by the attacks of September 11, 2001 and in response to requests from commenters for more time to address the issues raised in the concept release.
