NASDR Postpones Effectiveness of Rule Amendments Regarding CorrespondenceWashington, DC, February 12, 1998 - NASD Regulation, Inc. has postponed the effectiveness of recently approved amendments to National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. Rules 3010 and 3110 to allow member firms to develop flexible supervisory procedures for the review of correspondence with the public. The rule amendments were originally scheduled to go into effect on February 15, 1998 In its announcement, NASDR states that the postponement will allow it to fully consider and address concerns that have been voiced since the adoption of the changes, particularly with respect to electronic communications systems. After considering these issues, NASDR will issue a subsequent notice providing a new effective date or proposing further changes.
