What is the purpose of Invertir con Éxito?
The purpose of Invertir con Éxito is to promote informed investing. The Investing for Success program was launched in May 2000 by the ICI Education Foundation and the National Urban League to strengthen investor awareness in the African-American community and was expanded in 2002 to reach the nation's growing Hispanic community. Research indicates nearly three-quarters of Hispanic households are worried that they may not be saving enough to meet future needs, such as retirement and the higher education of their children. In May 2002, Invertir con Éxito was announced as one of the enhancements made to the Investing for Success program. The web course aims to help Hispanic investors make informed investment decisions and build a solid financial foundation for themselves and their children. What is the mutual fund industry's role in Invertir con Éxito?
Recognizing the importance of informed investors, the Investment Company Institute, the national association of the mutual fund industry, created the ICI Education Foundation in 1989. As the educational affiliate of ICI, the Foundation partners with government agencies and other nonprofit organizations to promote and enhance investor awareness. The web course, for example, integrates materials from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Labor, and Social Security Administration. The course does not promote any commercial products or services or specific professions, firms, or individuals. Where can I get more information about Invertir con Éxito?
