About the Investment Company Institute Education Foundation

Formed in 1989, the ICI Education Foundation (ICIEF), the educational affiliate of the Investment Company Institute, partners with government agencies and other nonprofit organizations to help promote or enhance investor awareness on behalf of the mutual fund industry. Since 2000, the Foundation's primary focus has been the Investing for Success program and partnerships. This program is designed to strengthen investor awareness in the African-American and Hispanic communities.

The Foundation also participates in national educational partnerships and programs, including those of the American Savings Education Council, Alliance for Investor Education, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

During the period in which the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held Investors Town Meetings, the ICIEF served on the steering committee. As part of these meetings, mutual fund industry leaders present a seminar, "Understanding Mutual Funds," on behalf of the Foundation.

ICIEF is a 501(c)(3) organization.
