Denise Murray, ICI, 202/371-5420 Washington, DC, March 19, 2007 - The National Urban League (NUL) and the Investment Company Institute Education Foundation's (ICIEF) Investing for Success program inspires African Americans to become more knowledgeable about investing and to take advantage of opportunities to accumulate wealth. NUL and ICIEF will hold their next workshop on Thursday, March 22, at 6 pm at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. "The National Urban League and ICIEF share an important goal of helping African Americans to become economically self-sufficient," said Marc H. Morial, president of the National Urban League. Presented by Denise Murray, Director of Investor Education Programs for the ICI, the program will focus on such topics as setting investment goals, developing realistic expectations, the importance of a long-term perspective, understanding risk and reward, what it means to be an informed investor, planning for college and saving for retirement
