SEC Announces 1999 Facts on Saving and Investing CampaignWashington, DC, February 24, 1999 - Last year the Securities and Exchange Commission, in partnership with the Investment Company Institute and several other government agencies, financial industry associations, and consumer organizations instituted an annual Facts on Saving and Investing Campaign, a week of nationwide activities devoted to investor education. The campaign is intended to encourage Americans of all ages and incomes to "get the facts" they need to achieve financial security. This year's campaign, scheduled for Sunday, April 25 through Saturday, May 1, will target young people and employees. An overview of the 1999 campaign, a list of campaign partners, and background information about last year's campaign, can be found on the SEC's website. The campaign's slogan and logo, pictured below, may be downloaded from the SEC's website for use with any campaign activities, provided the slogan is accompanied by the following disclaimer: The government agencies and their partners that organized this campaign have not endorsed any particular firms, brokers, products, or services. The SEC has developed other campaign guidelines for participating financial industry groups, companies, and regulated firms or individuals.
