Facts on Saving and Investing Campaign Money 2000 ProgramWhat Is It?
Money 2000 is a campaign of USDA's Cooperative Extension System to encourage Americans to save or reduce debt by at least $2,000 by the year 2000. The program also addresses investment options. Participants complete a form stating their savings or debt reduction goal. Local extension educators offer ongoing information, such as quarterly newsletters, home-study courses, videos, seminars, and websites to help people reach their goals. As in many weight-loss programs, participants "weigh-in" by periodically reporting their progress. What Can You Do? - Call the Money 2000 contact for your state and ask if they've planned seminars or other programs during the week of March 29 - April 4, 1998.
